Starting at $890 Per Tooth The Cost of Porcelain Veneers in Leesburg

Because veneers are a custom procedure, several factors will affect the cost of your treatment, including:

  • Material (porcelain or premium e.Max®)
  • Number of veneers
  • Inclusion of other treatments
  • Complexity of the case

To achieve the very best outcomes, the cost of your treatment includes a digital preview of your results. When you like how this preview looks, we will create a wax version of your veneers for you to try on. Once you are happy with the way the wax veneers look and feel, we will proceed with creating your permanent veneers.

Determining Your Candidacy  for Dental Veneers

While porcelain veneers will work for the majority of patients, there are certain requirements you need to meet in order to qualify. Dr. Han will check:

Your Oral Health

Candidates must be in good oral health. If you suffer from gum disease, damaged teeth, or a dental infection, these conditions must be resolved prior to cosmetic treatment. Fortunately, our practice is equipped to resolve all of these issues.

Enamel

During your consultation, the dentist will examine your tooth enamel to make sure there is enough of this tissue to support veneers. Since a small amount of enamel is usually removed in order to allow veneers to lay flush with surrounding teeth, you must have enamel to spare. In some cases, we can provide prepless veneers that can accommodate patients who do not qualify for traditional veneers.

TMJ and Teeth Grinding

If you suffer from bruxism (teeth grinding), we will need to address the condition so you don't damage your veneers. We can provide a special guard to wear during sleep; we can also provide treatments to address temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder  or other causes of teeth grinding. In many cases, tooth misalignment is to blame for teeth grinding or TMJ disorder. Orthodontic treatments such as Invisalign by Dr. Ahn can benefit your oral health and allow you to get the most from your investment in porcelain veneers.

Prepared vs. Prepless Veneers A Closer Look at Your Options

Our practice offers two types of dental veneers: prepress and prepared. When you schedule a consultation at our office, we can help you determine which option is best for you.

Prepless

These are usually only recommended for patients who need little to no alteration to their teeth in order to achieve natural-looking results. These are best suited for patients without misalignment and only minor aesthetic issues. Because they involve a much simpler procedure, they are easily reversible.

Prepared

Prepared veneers require the removal of some dental enamel, usually equal to the thickness of an eggshell. This allows the veneer to lay flush with surrounding teeth. If your dentist determines that a prepress veneer would protrude, or if you need a thicker veneer to conceal certain imperfections, a traditional veneer may be the better choice.

Placing Your Veneers

Here is what you can expect when receiving traditional custom dental veneers at our dental practice:

Consultation

During your initial consultation, you will meet with Dr. Han and discuss your cosmetic goals for treatment, We will perform an oral exam and x-rays to determine whether you are a good candidate for veneers, and design a custom treatment plan accordingly. This will involve creating a digital mockup of your projected results.

Preparation

If needed, we prepare the tooth for treatment by removing a small layer of the surface enamel. You may also choose to undergo whitening to brighten your entire smile before we design the veneer to match the shade of your enamel.

Impressions

After your tooth is prepped, we take impressions. The dentist designs your custom veneer to precisely fit the tooth and blend with the size and shape of your natural teeth.

Wax Models and Temporaries

The impressions will be used to create wax veneers for you to try on, allowing you to give Dr. Han feedback regarding fit and appearance. Any changes you want will be incorporated into your final veneers. We will also provide temporary veneers for you to wear until your permanent veneers are ready.

Manufacturing

The impressions and final specifications are sent to a dental lab where skilled technicians will craft the veneers. In approximately two weeks, they send the final product back to our Leesburg office.

Placement

In this second procedure, the dentist examines the look and the fit of the dental veneer against your tooth, making any necessary adjustments. When it satisfies our high standards and your expectations, we attach the restoration to the tooth surface with a strong dental adhesive.

Caring for Your Veneers

Woman-getting-dental-checkup

Your veneers can last as long as 15 years with the right care and maintenance. Fortunately, this doesn't require anything dramatically different from the way you care for your natural teeth:

  • Brush twice and floss at least once each day
  • Visit us for checkups every six months
  • Don't chew things like ice chips, fingernails, or pen caps

Again, if you have issues like teeth grinding, Dr. Han can provide you with a custom nightguard to protect your veneers. He can also provide treatment to resolve the cause of the issue. Often, issues like teeth misalignment or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder are the culprits. Dr. Han can provide the treatment you need to protect your veneers and your entire smile.
