How a Simple Appliance Can Treat Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) causes gasping for air due to relaxed throat muscles or other tissue blocking your airway while you sleep. Left untreated, sleep apnea can cause daytime exhaustion as well as many physical and mental health issues. If a sleep study confirms you have sleep apnea, a customized oral appliance from our dentists can shift your lower jaw forward, opening your airway to improve oxygen flow and sleep quality.

Many of our patients prefer wearing an oral appliance at night as opposed to wearing a mask connected to a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. However, if your obstructive sleep apnea is diagnosed as severe, CPAP treatment may be best.
